Nebraska Arborists Association

TCIA Electrical Hazard Awareness Training Program

The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) has been awarded a federal grant through the Susan
Harwood Training Grant Program to provide up to 25 free Electrical Hazards Awareness Program (EHAP) workshops in 2012, which could train up to 750 individuals in safe, accident-free electrical hazards work practices.

NAA will host one of the training programs on March 15, 2012 at the Douglas/Sarpy County Extension Office in Omaha from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Workshops will include an electrical arcing demonstration. TCIA has secured some arcing demo equipment, however, ability of the local host to partner with a local utility for an arcing demo is a plus.  The demo requires an adequate outside location, such as a parking lot.
